Idol's Final Round + Wild Cards

Posted by Frost on 17 Sep 2011 at 9:07pm PDT Updated on 17 Sep 2011 at 9:15pm PDTIn the final semifinals group of Idol 3, the top ten advancing Pokemon were Dragonite, 3.9502 stars; Arcanine, 3.8518 stars; Lugia, 3.7805 stars; Blaziken, 3.7698 stars; Mew, 3.7512 stars; Lucario, 3.7491 stars; Scizor, 3.7416 stars; Gengar, 3.6984 stars; Sceptile, 3.6368; and Lapras, 3.6346. As is typical in later rounds, all of the advancing Pokemon had a lower average than they had in earlier rounds.

Just missing out in the finals (and as wild cards, since all ten of Group 1's Pokemon who were the closest to advancing had higher averages than the #11 Pokemon in Group 2) included Vaporeon, with 3.6116 stars; Gardevoir, with 3.6029 stars; Suicune, with 3.6017 stars; Jolteon, with 3.5831 stars; and Dragonair, with 3.5573 stars. The bottom five of the round were Togekiss, 3.1679; Totodile, 3.1288; Dratini, 3.1271; Heracross, 3.1208; and Haunter, 3.0885.

Since this is the last round of Idol and there are no more eliminations, I've decided to let the top thirty vote-getters in the third round take part in the finals. This in particular is because Venusaur and Zekrom were in the top TWENTY of round three based on overall average, but didn't make it into the final round, which was originally planned to have twenty Pokemon, because Group 1 had much higher averages than Group 2 overall.

So in addition to the twenty Pokemon who advanced from Round 3 automatically, added to the final rounds are the remaining Pokemon with the highest overall averages: Venusaur, Zekrom, Salamence, Latios, Articuno, Swampert, Feraligatr, Kyogre, Ho-oh and Zapdos.

Vote for your favorite! The winner of this round takes the whole game!

Arcanine
Blastoise
Dragonite
Espeon
Lapras
Latios
Mew
Umbreon

Any of these, por favor :O

Swampert FTW!

Let us have someone apart from you-know-who this time...

Since this is the last round, I'll write my ratings here:

5 stars: Blaziken, Flygon, Salamence, Rayquaza, Zekrom, Scizor, Venusaur, Tyranitar
4 stars: Umbreon, Sceptile, Metagross, Latios
2 Stars: Articuno
1 Star: Charizard, Blastoise, Frealigatr, Lucario, Mew, Typhlosion.

The rest are all 3 stars.

Im quite surprised though, only 1 Gen V pokemon...

Sweet! Venusaur is back in action!Hardly anyone got 5 stars from me this time, except Metagross.

Too bad Hydreigon didn't make it to the finals... :(

...Oh, and Lucario also got five stars from me. :) If Metagross doesn't win, I hope it's Lucario.everyone knows it will be charizard!!!!Espeon has this in the bag. I'd go for Scizor and Venasaur, too.

If there's one thing I wish, it's that Charizard doesn't win. He just can't.

I'm so fed up of Charizard being a certain winner that I gave it one star, even though I think it's pretty epic. :/
There's no point in holding a vote if everyone already knows who will win.

That's why I think this should be the LAST Psypoke Idol to feature every Pokemon from every region.

If there is ever a Generation VI, can we just vote on that generation by itself, rather than waste our time with a full-blown contest where every single Pokemon competes and we all know Charizard will win?!

This is the _third_ Psypoke Idol and Charizard hasn't won yet, so...I wasn't being strictly literal, Frost... my point is that it's far too easy to predict the top scorers.
For every round, it's easy to recognise the Pokemon that will definitely advance.

I'm tired of knowing that certain Pokemon will reach the finals every time.
I'm also fed up of there being so many competitors, most of which have competed before and will achieve similar standings at the end.

Psypoke Idol was great at first, but now it feels predictable and boring.
I'd like to see something new.

I stand by my word from at least five times before - next year, we should have a vote on our favourite shinies. :)
More stars for those that look better than the regular colours, fewer for those that look worse. That would be fantastic!!
